Bolivia Historical Glacier Photographs

During the 1920s and 1930s, Dr. Robert Herzenberg spent considerable time in Bolivia and took many photographs of people and the landscape. Many of his photographs — which appear below — focused on the mountains and glaciers during this period. They are useful for understanding historical landscapes, past positions of glaciers, and perhaps repeat photography to chronicle effects of climate change on ice and glacierized environments.

Thanks to the generosity of Dr. Herzenberg’s family, these images below are made available for education and research.  They are not for commercial purposes.

The photographs below can be used for educational or research purposes. Their use must be accompanied by the following attribution: Copyright Robert Herzenberg 2017 / All Rights Reserved.
